I wrote myself a letter to the future today (to arrive in three years’ time). And as I was writing I realised something profound.
For the first time in my life I truly feel like I am winning at life.
And I didn’t get there by being successful. I didn’t get there by setting goals and achieving them. I didn’t get there by looking like I was winning at life.
In fact… ‘looking like I was winning’ was holding me back more than I could have imagined.
For me, winning at life involves simply:
- Knowing Who I Am (And Who I Am Not)
- Knowing My Boundaries
- Knowing My Values
And, most importantly, living in line with those three things.
When we live in line with our authentic selves we realise that everything is okay, and always has been.
It took a lot of time. It took a lot of courage. It took a lot of pain. It took a lot of healing. It took a lot of work.
But then again… valuable things don’t come easily do they?
